Adedolapo Boluwatife
Nigerian photographer
Adedolapo Boluwatife (b. 1996, Ojodu, Lagos) is a Nigerian photographer and filmmaker whose practice explores the intersections of identity, emotion, and social consciousness. Originally studying English at Obafemi Awolowo University, he transitioned into visual storytelling through photography, developing a conceptual approach shaped by influences such as Viviane Sassen and Rotimi Fani-Kayode. His work engages themes including mental health, African identity, and environmental justice, combining symbolic composition with a strong sense of atmosphere and introspection. Since 2015, his photographs have been exhibited internationally and featured in platforms such as Vogue Philippines, Nataal, Nowness, and Obscura. In 2024, he received second place in the CreateCOP29 Prize, recognizing his commitment to eco-conscious artistic practice. Based between Lagos and Ogun, Boluwatife continues to contribute to contemporary African photography through a lens grounded in reflection, resistance, and care.
