Alexia Weill
Sculptor based in Switzerland
Alexia Weill was born in Paris where she studied Film Directing before attending Drawing and Clay Sculpture classes at the world renowned Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris. In 2005, she moved near Montreux in Switzerland where she is currently living and creating. She is completely focused on her sculpture practice and chose stone as medium of her work. She transforms the stone into round and pure shape. She likes to bring out the spirit of the stone, opening a dialog to give it another life. Her art is known for her Circular Impressions, circles curved in all kind of stone, marble, granite, serpentine, limestone, basalt and more.
Alexia Weill is a staunch supporter of women’s rights. Her feminism is demonstrated in her artwork and actions. For many years she has been donating artwork to the Red Cross to be auctioned at the prestigious Annual Red Cross Ball in Geneva.
