Artist Profile

Anastazie Anderson
Czech painter
Anastazie Anderson (b. 1995, Prague, Czech Republic) is a Czech-British artist working primarily in painting. Her large-scale canvases draw on a wide range of visual references—from home photography and social media to cinematic imagery and the legacies of modernist painting—to construct what might best be described as mediated fantasies. Anderson’s work blurs the line between memory and imagination, authenticity and artifice, creating emotionally charged scenes that feel simultaneously familiar and unreal. Her practice navigates the logic of dreams through interpolated colour, flattened forms, and a flux between realism and naivety, echoing traditions of hard-edge painting while questioning contemporary image-making. She holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art (2023) and a BA in Fine Art from Falmouth School of Art (2018). Anderson lives and works in the UK.
