Babacar Dieye is a Senegalese visual artist, graphic designer, and sculptor whose multidisciplinary practice reflects a deep engagement with contemporary African creativity and visual culture. His artistic journey began in the early 2000s in Guédiawaye, where encounters with neighborhood decorative artists sparked his passion for the visual arts. In 2007, he joined the Screen Printing and Plastic Arts workshop supported by the INTERVIDA Foundation, earning a certificate in Plastic Arts and Screen Printing. The following year, he successfully passed the entrance exam to the National School of Arts in Dakar, where he obtained a certificate in advertising graphics in 2010 and later, in 2012, his Higher Artistic Studies Diploma. Over the years, Babacar has continued to expand his creative horizons, exploring the intersections of technology and art, earning a certificate in Arts and Artificial Intelligence in 2021, and participating in the AFRICOMICS comics in Africa workshop in 2022. His work, which blends traditional artistic expression with contemporary design approaches, embodies a dynamic vision of African art in the modern era.
