Artist Profile
Damien Cifelli
Multidisciplinary artist and writer from Edinburgh
Damien Cifelli is a multidisciplinary artist and writer from Edinburgh whose practice constructs and documents the fictional world of “Tarogramma,” an imagined environment with its own culture, iconography, and systems of behaviour. Working through a form of fictional anthropology, he creates paintings and artefacts that function as visual records of this invented world, blurring the boundaries between documentation and storytelling. His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including Whitechapel Gallery and Saatchi Gallery, with solo presentations at Spinello Projects, Moosey Gallery, Pulpo Gallery, Liminal Gallery, and Edinburgh Art Festival. He has been shortlisted for the East London Art Prize, UK New Artists Award, Cass Art Prize, and the Delphian Open Call, and is a recipient of the Thyssen Versiona Award.
