Artist Profile

Dildar Qureshi
Indian Miniature artist
Dildar Qureshi, known as the youngest artist at the prestigious Kota-Bundi School of Miniature Art, carries forward the legacy of his father, renowned Kota artist Mohammad Waseem. Deeply rooted in tradition, Dildar works exclusively in the classical Kota-Bundi miniature style, preserving centuries-old techniques with remarkable dedication. He prepares his own natural pigments from stones, minerals, gold, silver, and kathir, and crafts handmade wasli paper through traditional layering and polishing methods — processes that infuse his work with authenticity and longevity. Through his intricate brushwork and symbolic compositions, Dildar breathes life into the rich storytelling heritage of Rajasthan’s miniature art, ensuring that every bird, plant, and figure he paints holds deeper meaning. For him, this art form is not merely a craft, but a way of life and a tribute to his cultural roots.
