Artist Profile

Ela Skorska
Poland-born photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist
Ela Skorska is a photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist based in the Peak District, UK. Her practice predominantly utilizes analogue cameras, alongside sculpture, painting, and Super 8 film. After several years hitchhiking through Europe and living between France and England, she settled in the UK and recently graduated with a BA in Photography from Manchester School of Art. A year spent studying Fine Arts at UCLM in Cuenca, Spain as part of an Exchange Programme solidified her versatile approach, igniting a passion for fine arts, film art, and experimental cinema. Skorska’s work investigates the interplay of light and shadow, focused on abstraction and geometrical shapes created by collaborating with chance. The city, with its structures, serves as an ever-inspiring playground for her brutalist perspective, rooted in her upbringing in Poland. Skorska has exhibited her work in group exhibitions throughout the UK and Spain.
