Elenise Xisto
Brazilian visual artist
Elenise Xisto is a Brazilian visual artist born in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. She holds both a Bachelor's and a Teaching Degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), and currently lives and works in Porto Alegre. She is also the founder and coordinator of the NuPAC (Center for Artistic and Creative Practices) extension project at UFRGS. Her work features figurative paintings and drawings in acrylic on canvas, often centered around a fictional character she created—the "pink-rabbit," a whimsical and anthropomorphic figure drawn from childhood memories of comics and cartoons. Through this character, Elenise explores themes such as animality, the body, trauma, metamorphosis, and fantasy.
