Artist Profile

Eric Odartey Cruickshank
Self-taught contemporary artist from Ghana
Eric Odartey Cruickshank, professionally known as Lines Being, is a versatile self-taught contemporary artist born in 2000 in Accra, Ghana. Currently a student at Takoradi Technical University, he explores the expressive power of lines as the foundation of his artistic language. Working fluidly across both wet and dry media, his practice documents themes of social, cultural, and political growth, transforming everyday experiences into striking visual narratives. For Eric, every line—whether thick, curved, wavy, spiral, or faint—carries its own story, emotion, and energy, reflecting the complexities of human figures and identities. Influenced by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Kerry James Marshall, Egon Schiele, and Ghanaian contemporary artist Amoako Boafo, he continues to develop a distinctive style that bridges personal expression and collective experience.
