Artist Profile

Esperanza Grez
Chilean visual artist and researcher
Esperanza Grez (Chile) is a visual artist and researcher working at the intersection of photography, printmaking, and sculpture. With a degree in Art from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s in Art and Design Research from EINA (Barcelona), her practice investigates the hidden structures of architecture as metaphors for the human body. Focusing on buildings under construction, she explores the parallels between organic and industrial forms, challenging the notion of architecture as static by framing the city as a living body in flux. Her work draws on cartographic methodologies—walking, collecting, and mapping—to establish connections between the material and conceptual, the intimate and the urban.
