Hawa-Jane Bangura is a Sierra Leonean artist based in Freetown, whose work explores the complexities of African women’s identities. With a background in Art from both the UK and the USA, and a legal career in New York and Sierra Leone, she challenges traditional depictions of African women in art while re-imagining their narratives through her practice.
