Artist Profile
Inna Medvedeva
Self-taught artist based in Kyrgyzstan
Inna Medvedeva is a self-taught artist based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She has been drawing since childhood, developing her skills independently while pursuing other paths, including a degree in economics. Initially drawn to the simplicity of monochrome graphite works, her artistic journey took a new direction when she discovered pastels — a medium that opened her to the beauty of vibrant color. Today, pastel remains her favorite material for its tenderness and velvety texture, especially in portraiture. To preserve the airy quality of her work, she avoids using fixatives, instead protecting each piece under glass. While pastels are her primary focus, Inna also occasionally works with oil. Deeply inspired by the world around her and the creativity of other artists, she continues to explore and refine her personal style and artistic voice.
