Itzel Yard, aslo known as Ix Shells, is a Panamanian-based artist and self taught coder. By playing video games during her childhood, she was able to tap into her creativity which prompted a deep fascination for coding at an early age. Born and based in Panama, Shells produces generative art. Her algorithms dictate key characteristics, such as color, shape and texture, producing multiplex artworks. To inspire her digital representations, Shells is influenced by Brutalist architecture and the prevalence of patterns in nature. The sale of Shells' 'Dreaming at Dusk' in 2021 earned her the title of the highest-selling female NFT artist.
