As a newly contemporary Lebanese painter, Jamilee Douaihy’s art journey began amid the COVID19 pandemic. Working with the Red Cross, she wanted to engage in an activity to decrease stress and frustration. Her curiosity led her to explore again her long-left childhood pencils and paint mediums, and she foundsherself very relieved by the creative process. Sharing this experience with others also transmitted this therapeutic effect of colors and communication and decreased the prevalent stress within the Lebanese context of not only herself, but others who enjoyed Jamilee’s paintings. A combination of abstract, expressionist art and realism is what drew the attention of many, especially with relaxing colors that prevail in her paintings.
