Jamyang Tobgay Dorjee (b. 2002), a self-employed artist from Thimphu, Bhutan, was deeply influenced by the art of his grandfather, whose paintings fostered a powerful connection and inspired him to create his own lasting message. Surrounded by Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage, Dorjee’s artistic aspiration is to contribute to the country’s vibrant history of art. He studied at Royal Thimphu College and attended Pelkhil School, further honing his skills and deepening his commitment to expressing Bhutanese identity and values through his work. Dorjee sees art as a potent medium for leaving a legacy and connecting with future generations.
