Juliet Appiah
Self-taught upcycle artist from Ghana
Juliet Appiah is a self-taught upcycle artist from Kumasi, Ghana, whose practice transforms discarded materials into contemporary sculptures, portraits, and functional artworks. Working primarily with plastic waste, fabric offcuts, and cardboard, she combines experimentation, craftsmanship, and innovative material manipulation to create richly textured works that challenge conventional perceptions of waste and value. Through her “From Trash to Treasure” initiative, Appiah extends her practice beyond artmaking, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging new generations to embrace creativity, sustainability, and material reclamation.
