Kate Henny is a disabled artist living with fibromyalgia, a chronic illness that significantly impacts her energy and mobility. Diagnosed five years ago, Henny has adapted her life and career to accommodate her invisible disability, including returning to university in search of a more accessible profession. Facing challenges with energy and muscle weakness, particularly when it comes to hand movements, Henny has embraced pointillism as her artistic medium of choice. Working in short bursts and utilizing a “million little marks or dots” allows her to overcome physical limitations, while the portability of a sketchbook allows her to create comfortably from her couch or bed.
