Keyonne ‘Keeks’ Yarde is a Barbadian raised stippling artist. She attended The Barbados Community College where she attained an Associates Degree in Fine Arts and has since honed her skills privately. Initially, Keeks worked with paint, but soon discovered a technique derived from Georges Seurat’s pointillism, called stippling. Through her stippling, she explores themes of ‘splash of color’ within black and white, challenging the notion of things having to be one or the other, black or white, up or down. She is exploring with this new technique whilst finding ways to add her ‘sunshine’ to every piece within topics personal to her.
