Artist Profile

Lăcră Grozăvescu (b. 1996, Romania) is a visual artist working across photography, embroidery, video, and installation. Her interdisciplinary practice explores family memory, inherited silence, and intergenerational trauma through interventions in personal archives and textile-based processes. By embroidering directly onto archival photographs, she transforms acts of stitching into gestures of care, resistance, and remembrance, investigating how memory is transmitted beyond language. Her work draws attention to the complexities of maternal relationships, feminist histories, and the emotional weight carried by domestic crafts, inviting viewers to reconsider the stories embedded within family images and the possibilities of healing through artistic intervention. Grozăvescu's work has been exhibited internationally and featured in Fisheye Magazine, Lenscratch, and L’Oeil de la Photographie.
