Artist Profile

Leong Cheng I is a Macau-born artist, born in 1994 and a graduate of the School of Arts at Macao Polytechnic Institute. Working primarily in oil painting, she observes human communication and the fleeting behaviors that emerge within social interactions, including hesitation, conceit, and other subtle expressions. These momentary gestures and emotions become the basis for scenes that she arranges on canvas, often revealing the theatricality and absurdity of everyday human encounters. Through her figurative compositions, Leong transforms ordinary interactions into vivid visual narratives that capture the farcical dimensions of human behavior.
