Lobzang Zangpo
Multidisciplinary Bhutanese artist
Lobzang Zangpo (Lobu) (b. 1995, Thimphu) is a multidisciplinary Bhutanese artist whose creative journey began at VAST Bhutan, where what started as a way to pass time soon became a life-changing passion. Encouraged by a supportive community, Lobu discovered a deep love for painting that led him to pursue formal training in the arts. In 2019, he graduated with a BA in Visual Arts from Beaconhouse National University in Lahore, Pakistan, on a scholarship facilitated by VAST. His work spans painting, photography, sculpture, and sketching, reflecting a dynamic and evolving practice. Deeply inspired by Asha Kama, Lobu sees art not just as a medium of expression, but as a way of life and connection.
