Artist Profile
Moses Onugadi Njoku
Nigerian sculptor
Moses Oñugadi Njoku is a Nigerian sculptor from Amaigbo, Imo State, whose exploratory practice combines intuitive making, material experimentation, and environmental consciousness. He holds a First Class degree in Fine and Applied Arts, specializing in Sculpture, and an MFA from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Njoku’s process moves between spontaneous engagement with materials and a more deliberate progression from imagination and drawing to design, fabrication, and modelling. His work reflects his belief that the process of making is as important as the finished object, often preserving traces of construction within the surface and form. Driven by a commitment to sustainability, he transforms discarded acrylic plastics, found objects, living plants, and other unconventional materials into sculptural works, exploring social and environmental concerns while revealing new creative possibilities within materials otherwise considered waste.
