Nai Nai
Taipei-based artist
Nai Nai (Duan Nai Yun) (b. 1999) is a Taipei-based artist whose practice explores women’s experiences, embodiment, memory, and the structures that shape everyday life. Her earlier work emerged from close attention to her own body, examining the boundaries between interior and exterior, surface and depth, and transforming bodily sensations and traces into ways of confronting memory and embodied experience. More recently, her practice has become increasingly narrative-driven, drawing on relationships, everyday encounters, literature, and mythology. With a background in stage design, Nai Nai combines poetic language and theatrical sensibilities to create works that connect personal experience with wider social realities. During artist residencies, she engages with local issues surrounding women’s lives and gender structures, bringing the perspective of a Taiwanese woman into dialogue with diverse cultural contexts.
