Natasha Wein

Artist Profile

Natasha Wein
Multidisciplinary artist based in US
Natasha Wein is a self-taught, physically disabled artist, writer, and small-business owner raised in Palo Alto, California and now based in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and a traumatic brain injury, she paints with her feet to accommodate spinal injuries and explores the symbolic potential of materials in both visual art and jewelry-making. Her work—psychoanalytically informed and rooted in intuition, projection, and analysis—examines the dialogue between abstraction and language as a window into the unconscious. Working in series, Wein creates narrative-driven exhibitions using acrylic, gouache, ink, and pencil, alongside natural elements like flowers, mushrooms, found-dead insects, and foraged bones. Her practice explores themes of injury and mending, liminality, identity, and resilience, integrating psychodynamic theory, anatomy, and environmental ethics to translate difficult experiences into hopeful visual narratives.
