Artist Profile

Nget Chanpenh
Cambodian visual artist
Nget Chanpenh is a Cambodian visual artist whose work transforms silence into statement. Unable to express his thoughts and experiences in words, Nget turned to painting as a profound form of testimony and healing. A graduate of Phare Ponleu Selpak Visual Arts School (2013), he now lives and works at Romcheik 5 Art Space in Battambang—a studio collective born from shared hardship and resilience. His art, rich with symbolism and emotional weight, acts as both personal therapy and public witness. Rather than portraying himself as a victim, Nget adopts the role of observer, crafting poetic yet piercing reflections on trauma, injustice, and the fractured realities of contemporary Cambodia. His work has been exhibited across Asia, Europe, and North America, earning recognition for its raw honesty and evocative power.
