Nick Lopez is a California-based designer, woodworker, and sculptor whose practice merges craftsmanship, sustainability, and contemporary design. A third-generation craftsman, Lopez developed his skills under the guidance of his father, building a foundation in woodworking and fabrication that continues to shape his work today. Since 2006, he has created functional art and home furnishings using reclaimed materials, particularly salvaged old-growth California redwood sourced from barns, decks, and fencing. Rooted in a commitment to reducing waste and extending the life of discarded materials, his practice transforms reclaimed wood into sculptural objects and refined furniture pieces that balance utility with artistry. Over the past sixteen years, Lopez has developed a distinctive body of work spanning case goods, sculpture, and private commissions, often incorporating concrete, terrazzo, plaster, and wood.
