Nida Shah
UK-born Lithuania-based transdisciplinary artist
Nida Shah (b. 2001, London, United Kingdom) is a transdisciplinary artist based in Lithuania. After spending her early childhood in London, she relocated to Lithuania at the age of nine and later graduated from the Kaunas High School of Art. In 2025, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Working across printmaking, painting, sculpture, mixed media, artist books, and performance, Shah's practice investigates questions of identity, memory, and personal experience, seeking to transform subjective narratives into shared points of reflection through dialogue with audiences. Drawing upon both historical and contemporary cultural contexts, her work is distinguished by a visual language shaped by her experience of altered perception resulting from an eating disorder. Recent participation in international residencies and symposiums has further expanded her engagement with site-responsive approaches, allowing local environments and personal perspectives to intersect within her work. Embracing both experimentation and material consciousness, Shah frequently incorporates reclaimed and discarded materials, creating works that balance careful planning with openness to chance and discovery.
