Artist Profile

Nikita Andrejev
Lithuanian painter
Nikita Andrejev (b. 2001, Vilnius, Lithuania) is a London-based painter whose practice interrogates the boundaries between the organic and the natural through richly textured abstract compositions. Having moved to the UK as a teenager—from boarding school in Wolverhampton to further studies in Liverpool—he developed a deep engagement with form, pattern, and material rooted in nature. His work seeks out universal rhythms found in textures like tree bark, coral, stone, and muscle, distilled into visual form through oil painting on canvas; his surfaces are built, scraped, and reworked to evoke spiritual landscapes informed by instinct and observation. Carpenter-trained from a young age, Andrejev carries a tactile sensibility into his painting process—with mark-making that channels repetition, angle, rhythm, and irregularity.
