Artist Profile

Noel Molloy
Noel Molloy
Irish multidisciplinary artist
Noel Molloy is an Irish multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, performance, film, sound, and mixed media. Born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, he studied Fine Art at the Limerick School of Art and Design, graduating in 1982, and has since developed a distinctive practice spanning more than four decades. Using found objects, scrap metal, and everyday domestic materials, Molloy creates semi-figurative sculptures and immersive performances that occupy the boundary between the familiar and the uncanny. His work draws on themes of history, religion, conflict, and environmental change, while resisting fixed interpretations and inviting viewers to construct their own meanings. Characterized by experimentation, material transformation, and a singular visual language, his practice has been presented extensively throughout Ireland and internationally across exhibitions, performances, film, and sound.
