Nthabiseng Boledi Kekana
South African multidisciplinary artist
Nthabiseng Kekana, born in 1999 in Johannesburg and raised in Alexandra, is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in her hometown. She developed an early passion for drawing in primary school, which led her to the National School of the Arts (NSA), where she majored in Three Dimensional Design. After graduating from NSA, Nthabiseng entered the LISOF Fashion Design Institute's #MyFashionCareer bursary competition, where she placed first runner-up and subsequently pursued a Higher Certificate in fashion design. Her artistic journey continued as she enrolled in the University of Johannesburg, earning a degree in Digital Media in Design (Multimedia). Following her graduation, Nthabiseng embraced her path as a full-time artist. Her work is deeply rooted in spirituality, and she utilizes a diverse range of mediums—including acrylics, charcoal, pastels, fineline, and natural fibers—to explore the fluidity of creation. Through her art, Nthabiseng seeks to express the divine consciousness of God, reflecting it as an extension of our shared human existence.
