Artist Profile

Omidiran John Kayode is a Nigerian contemporary visual artist and graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with nearly two decades of studio practice. His work explores African identity, cultural memory, humanity, and lived experience through a distinctive visual language known as Spherism, combining spherical forms, vibrant colour, texture, and pattern. Working across semi-figurative abstraction, pure abstraction, and impressionism, he incorporates acrylic paint with discarded fabrics and other reclaimed materials to create richly layered mixed-media compositions. Through this interplay of form and material, Kayode reflects on human connection, cultural heritage, and contemporary African experience.
