Onyinye Ezennia, aslo known as Zennia, is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist based in Germany, renowned for her innovative and expressive approach to artmaking. A distinguished graduate of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, where she earned a distinction in Fine and Applied Arts, she is an active member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) and the Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FEAAN). Her practice spans social and documentary photography, visual communication design, serigraphy, and experimental works with light and sound, for which she received the Prize for Originality in 2014. Onyinye gained significant recognition for her intricate string art, winning the overall prize at the 2016 Life in My City Art Festival, and emerging as a finalist in the Spanish Embassy Visual Art Competition in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, she secured third place in the “Best Art” competition organized by Nike Art Gallery. Rooted in personal experience, her works are a powerful advocacy for women’s empowerment, capturing life’s complexities with empathy and clarity. Her exploration with threads and nails reflects her patience, precision, and deep commitment to storytelling through contemporary art.
