Artist Profile
Paula Zvane
Latvian multidisciplinary artist
Paula Zvane is a Latvian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, painting, drawing, installation, and performance. Interested in the intersections between human and non-human worlds, she merges and transforms organic forms to uncover shared narratives across species, materials, and imagined environments. Working sculpturally with metals, fur, textiles, oil paint, and found materials, she investigates how matter can become emotional, mutable, and continually transformed. Zvane holds a bachelor's degree in Painting from the Latvian Academy of Arts and an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2023). A recipient of the Cecil Lewis Sculpture Award (2021), she has participated in international exhibitions, residencies, and collaborative projects across Latvia, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and beyond, including the Reykjavik Association of Sculptors, Skaftfell Art Residency, and interdisciplinary projects developed alongside scientists and artists.
