Artist Profile

Pranshu Thakore
Indian artist based in London
Pranshu Thakore (b. 1997, Vadodara, Gujarat, India) is a London-based artist working with sculpture and installation. She received her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2019–2022), and her BVA in Painting from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India (2015–2019). Recipient of the Nasreen Mohamedi Scholarship Award in 2018, Thakore's practice draws on vernacular art traditions, cultural memory, and ecological consciousness. Working primarily with discarded and upcycled materials, she constructs imaginative, ritual-like assemblages that challenge conventional ideas of utility, value, and identity. Her work often evokes a fantastical world populated by imagined creatures and ceremonies, offering playful yet critical reflections on our relationship with the environment and the objects we leave behind.
