Artist Profile

Rahma Lhoussig
Visual artist from Morocco
Rahma Lhoussig (b. 1996, Taroudant, Morocco) is a visual artist whose work fuses animals, everyday objects, and nature into vivid, dreamlike compositions. A graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan, she uses oil, acrylic, pastel, and colored pencil to explore the interplay between body, memory, and emotion. Her figures, often unfinished, masked, or at rest, inhabit liminal spaces where the familiar and the uncanny coexist, reflecting unconscious internal conflicts and the fragmented nature of memory. Through this evocative iconography, Lhoussig transforms everyday elements into a sensorial, mystical experience, creating a parallel dimension that examines the dialogue between the conscious and unconscious, and the ways emotions shape our perception of the world.
