Artist Profile

Raji David Adeteju is a Nigerian full-time practicing artist based in Nigeria. A graduate of Auchi Polytechnic with a Higher National Diploma in Painting and General Art, he has over a decade of experience working across painting and mixed media. Combining acrylic, oil, and reclaimed fabrics on canvas, Adeteju creates richly textured, narrative works that explore culture, identity, heritage, and everyday life. By collecting fabric offcuts from tailoring shops and transforming them through cutting, layering, and collage, he brings together the histories and colors of African textiles with contemporary painting techniques, creating a dialogue between material, memory, and identity.
