Artist Profile
Sasha Vinci’s research focuses on the continuous experimentation with different creative languages, from performance to sculpture, from sound design to drawing, painting and writing. Every artistic project is meant as a civil action, in which art and people blend together to make what the artist describes as a “cultural performance” in which the dissent to the social and political distortion of today is displayed.
In 1999, Sasha graduated in Sculpture at the Istituto Statale d’Arte “S. Fiume" in Comiso and in 2005, in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. In 2017 the artist won the Sustainable Art Prize promoted by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, in cooperation with ArtVerona. Between 2012 and 2018 he worked actively with the Sicilian artist Maria Grazia Galesi, with whom he gave birth to the artistic duo Vinci/Galesi.
