Young self-taught artist from Bhutan
Tandin Chophel is an artist from Thimphu, Bhutan, who has been drawing and painting since 2018. Working with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, he explores the relationship between human emotions and the natural world, reflecting the ever-changing essence of nature. His brushstrokes and color palettes evolve with each piece, capturing the mood and story he aims to convey.
Although he has no formal art training, Tandin has immersed himself in the teachings of master artists through books by Andrew Loomis, James Gurney, George Bridgman, Scott Robertson, and others. This dedication to self-education has shaped his artistic journey, allowing him to refine his craft and deepen his understanding of nature and its expressions.
Driven by a love for capturing the fleeting beauty of nature and time, Tandin continues to explore and express its subtle, timeless essence in his work.
