Artist Profile

Tomislav Šilipetar is a Croatian academic painter based in Zagreb. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Painting, studying under Igor Rončević, and became a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU) in 2015. His figurative practice explores identity, vulnerability, memory, and the complex relationship between the individual and others. Through fragmented figures, saturated colours, strong lines, and geometric forms, Šilipetar investigates the idea of the alter ego and the different selves we reveal, conceal, or carry within us. His paintings transform the human figure into a psychological space where emotion and contradiction coexist, inviting viewers to reflect on their own identities and the question of who we are beneath the surface.
