Artist Profile

Valeria Guerra-Garcia
Multidisciplinary artist from Peru
Valeria Guerra-Garcia (b. 2001, Lima, Peru) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, printmaking, installation, and video to explore themes of faith, sacrifice, and the complexities of devotion through the lens of womanhood and queerness. Grounded in her Catholic upbringing, her figurative oil paintings and ritual-based installations interrogate the power dynamics between worshiper and worshiped, exposing the violence and vulnerability embedded in spiritual surrender. Her work transforms personal rituals into shared spaces of reflection, inviting viewers to confront longing, silence, and the unspoken cost of belief. She lives and works in Lima, Peru, and is completing her BFA at Ringling College of Art and Design in the United States.
