Multidisciplinary artist based in Finland
Veronika Kvitko (b. Russia), known as Vegesent, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Her practice explores themes of animal visibility, empathy, and sustainability, aiming to spark dialogue around environmental responsibility and the ethical relationship between humans and animals. Raised near the Ural Mountains, Russia, her early connection to nature and experiences of scarcity shaped a deep respect for life beyond material values. Kvitko began her artistic training with an eight-year scholarship at the Aesthetic School of Visual and Performing Arts in Sarapul and later earned a BA in Graphic Design from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in 2016. After working across creative fields including digital media, book illustration, fashion photography, and game design, she transitioned toward mixed media painting to more directly address ecological and ethical concerns through her practice. In 2024, her work received the Vegan Choice Award, and she currently serves as Vice Chairperson of the Helsinki International Artists Association.
