Born in Jinan, China in 1998, Wen Tong immigrated to Canada at the age of two, eventually establishing herself in Oakville, Ontario, where she now works from her studio. A former Honours Bachelor of Science graduate from the University of Toronto in 2021, Wen studied Biotechnology and Computer Science while also taking studio art classes in painting and printmaking at Sheridan College. An award-winning contemporary artist, Wen creates cinematic oil paintings in the style of magical realism. Aspiring to counteract suffering through beauty and the engagement of the senses, the artist aims to create art that serves as sacred relics, offering viewers transcendent experiences and sharing stories of both joy and tribulation.
