Wenhui Nie (b. 1999, China) is a contemporary artist whose work delves into the intersection of animality and humanity, often portraying interior and exterior landscapes through delicate color palettes and subtly uncanny compositions. Her paintings reflect a deep sensitivity to material and form, shaped by a strong technical foundation developed during her undergraduate studies in painting. With a focus on recreating moments of randomness and maintaining a mindful tension within the image, Nie's practice balances control and spontaneity, inviting viewers into quietly disorienting spaces that blur the boundaries between the familiar and the surreal. Nie holds an MA in Painting from the School of Arts & Humanities at the Royal College of Art (RCA).
