Artist Profile

Yvonne Condon
Non-verbal artist based in Cork
Yvonne Condon is an energetic and passionate non-verbal visual artist from Ballinacurra, East Cork, Ireland, with limited hearing and vision. Since beginning her artistic journey in 2006 at the Cope Foundation’s Glasheen Art Studio Programme (GASP), Yvonne has cultivated a vibrant practice centered on expressive acrylic portraits, characterized by bold colors, rapid execution, and decisive lines; her bold and uncompromising paintings, often created at large scales, have been exhibited in venues such as the Project Arts Centre in Dublin and the RHA in Dublin. A recipient of the Arts and Disability Connect New Work award in 2019, Yvonne expanded her practice to include larger-scale works inspired by the urban and rural landscapes of Cork, where she participated in the Crawford Supported Studio until the Covid-19 pandemic. She finds great pleasure in engaging with the public during workshops and ‘meet the artist’ events.
