Khando Wangmo, a Bhutanese artist, has been named BE OPEN Art’s Regional Artist of the Month for South Asia for February. The award, part of a three-month initiative encompassing Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, celebrates emerging artistic talent from the region.
Each month, twenty artists are showcased in BE OPEN’s online gallery, with the Regional Artist of the Month selected through public voting. Wangmo’s unique and meaningful works in acrylic, oil, and watercolor captivated voters.
Wangmo joins January’s winner, Malinda Jayasinghe of Sri Lanka, in the running for the overall title of Regional Artist for South Asia, which will be awarded at the end of the three-month period. The ultimate winner, chosen by a combination of public and BE OPEN community votes, will receive a €500 prize.
