BE OPEN Art, an online gallery established by Elena Baturina’s humanitarian think-tank BE OPEN, continues its initiative BE OPEN Regional Art — a competition created to support emerging artists whose work reflects their regional, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Now in its third year, the programme celebrates the diversity and richness of artistic expression across the globe. In 2025, the BE OPEN expert community continues to spotlight artists who authentically represent the artistic traditions of their regions. These selected artists are featured in the BE OPEN Art gallery, offering them greater visibility and recognition.
The next stage of this year’s programme will focus on South America and associated territories. It will include artists from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela, as well as the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and French Guiana. This regional stage will run from July through September, with the regional winner to be announced and awarded €500 in early October.
As always, 20 emerging artists from the region will be featured monthly in the online gallery. Public voting will determine the Regional Artist of the Month, and one of the monthly winners will go on to become the Artist of the Region, based on votes from both the public and the BE OPEN Art expert community. In addition, a special Founder’s Choice award will be granted to one standout participant.
