BE OPEN Art Announces December Winner and Upcoming Regional Selection

BE OPEN Art is pleased to announce Meshach Charity, a Nigerian figurative painter whose, as the December winner of its Regional Artist of the Month program within the Western Africa stage of the global BE OPEN Art competition. A graduate of the University of Uyo, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Industrial Arts (Painting), Meshach has developed a distinctive visual language shaped by his personal experiences and immediate surroundings.

Running from October through December, the Western Africa regional stage highlights emerging artistic talent from across the region, including artists from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.

As the December winner, Meshach Charity joins Aluu Prosper (Nigeria) and  Ahmed Partey (Ghana) in contention for the Western Africa Regional Winner title. The regional winner, selected from the monthly winners, will be announced soon and will receive a €500 cash prize along with increased global visibility through the BE OPEN Art platform.
