BE OPEN Art is happy to announce that Dabi Arnasa, an artist based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, has been selected the Regional Artist of the month (August) by the highest number of votes of BE OPEN Art online gallery visitors.
Dabi is fascinated with the subconscious, and explores how memories can live there. Through his work, he has built a small world that visualizes records of his imagination and the phenomena that occur in his subconscious.
Dabi has become the second of the three candidates to the title of the Regional artist (Southeast Asia) and the 500 euros prize.
After one more monthly winners is defined in September, the BE OPEN Art expert team will select the one winner who best represents the artistic tradition of Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
