Helena Mirich Named First Stage Regional Artist of the Month for BE OPEN Art’s Central Europe Stage

BE OPEN Art is pleased to announce Helena Mirich as the first Regional Artist of the Month in the Central Europe stage of its 2026 global art competition. Running as the second stage of the fourth year of the programme, this stage recognizes outstanding emerging artists from across the region, including the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Helena Mirich is a Croatian-born, Berlin-based self-taught and intuitive painter whose work draws inspiration from nature, dreams, mysticism, occult knowledge, and symbolism. Her practice is defined by a strong focus on symmetrical composition and a painting process rooted in self-surrender and ceremonial ritual.

As the first monthly winner in this regional stage, Helena Mirich now joins the upcoming selection of artists who will compete for the title of Regional Winner of Central Europe, to be announced at the end of the stage. Additional monthly winners will be selected before the final regional award is determined.

The selected Regional Winner will receive a €500 cash prize and increased international visibility through the BE OPEN Art platform. Through the Regional Art competition, BE OPEN Art continues its mission to support emerging artists worldwide, fostering artistic innovation, cross-cultural dialogue, and the preservation of regional identities through contemporary art.
